TomTom One Automotive GPS Systems Review
TomTom is a company that is universally identified with its TomTom GO Automotive GPS Systems that have improved over time at providing the newest technology for portable and reasonably priced appliances. Although TomTom hasn’t made any new TomTom GO devices this year, people continue purchasing the current products because they do not disappoint when it comes to performance and usability. The only issue that some customers face is the cost.
TomTom ONE Automotive GPS Systems provide the solution to this conundrum. The TomTom ONE is a next generation version for people who need to conserve money but appreciate the TomTom’s options. TomTom ONE actually offers several models, including XL models which are widescreen. Unfortunately, only the original TomTom ONE can be purchased in the US. The TomTom ONE is well known for its very low price, and also for its lack of options and mediocre quality. Fortunately, the 2nd edition hit the market with long-awaited design and software developments, replacing the old model. This review will be concerned with the updated 2nd edition.
Look and Design
Looks might actually be everything, so just in case, TomTom ONE manages to attract your attention with its diminutive and unfussy look with a pleasantly curved top. TomTom ONE Automotive GPS Systems are small enough to be borne one-handed and is able to be carried inside someone’s pocket. Only by glancing at it, most people won’t realize that this TomTom ONE GPS is a budget model.
Setup Process
The mounting method is quite simple thanks to its plug and play functionality, so you should be able to work with the device directly after you unpack it. The process involves one part when you will be required to initiate the account online, which you won’t find covered in detail in the manual. However; you will be able to find the information you should have in terms of activation by accessing the comprehensive manual found just on the CD. After you activate the device, you are all ready for travel.
Navigational Features
TomTom ONE Automotive GPS Systems are quite accurate in regard to positioning and recalculating as you drive around. Occasionally you could notice it a bit confused by 25 to 50 meters, yet it still works more dependably than the other budget hand-held models out there. This device’s routing capabilities are outstanding too, and you won’t get too many of those irksome directives to double back occasionally. It won’t direct you to the quickest route every time, but it still does the job. The maps that TomTom GPS Systems provide contain a large amount of POIs, although a small part of the signs won’t be found on the map, so be sure to keep the maps updated.
Other Features
This device’s sound quality is good even at full volume, during times that other brands distort. The graphics and enhanced user interface are a pleasant change and will probably induce more consumers into giving TomTom ONE Automotive GPS Systems a spin. The battery life is less than ideal, lasting a little over 2 hours, and it comes with just a USB and car charger.
TomTom ONE Automotive GPS Systems come at an agreeable price and this GPS’s most significant functions do their job quite nicely. Take a look at this model as your pick if you especially want to save money.

Nice article – up until recently i never owed one and didnt understand what the fuss was about but know i do believe it is a must have for all car owners. also the speed checker feature that some models have is great and worth the price alone.
