Automotive GPS Systems Review
With free lifetime traffic, Zagat Ratings, 3-D images of highway interchanges, Lane Assist, and text-to-speech, the Navigon 5100 is rich in features that directly empower navigation. Plus, it looks great on your dashboard. It’s slim — less than an inch thick — and sports an easy-to-read 3.5″ touch screen wrapped in an elegant chrome frame.
The 5100 is the smaller sibling to Navigon’s flagship 7100. The 5100 has a 3.5-inch screen, while the 7100 has a 4.3-inch widescreen. The 7100 also adds bluetooth-capability for hands-free mobile phone integration, so if you want that feature, do check out the 7100. Otherwise, the 510… More >>

I had an old magellan so, i needed a new gps unit. I did an extensive research on all the units and were still undecided so, i decided to buy a garmin 350 nuvii and the garmin 5100 both for smiliar price.
The garmin is good very fast when calculating the routs but, its too simple 4 my liking . The drawings look unprofessional like a kids drawing. But, if u just wanna go to ur destination its the best gps but, if u want features like my self Garmin allllllllll the way. Great interface, superior software by farrrrrrrrrrrrrr. pretty accurate and stylish, but my onlyyyyyyyyyyy problem is the volume is sooo lowwwwwwwwwww thats the main problem cuz, i like to blast my music sumtimes but, atleast u dont need to hear the voice all the time cuz it shows the nest turn.
The zagat points of interests are greatttttttttttttttt , it tells u a little about each nightlife location which is greatttt.
What finally make me pack up the garmin and finally sending it back was the turn by turn lists, u need this incase the sattelite malfunction. Navigon gives u several turns on one screen without any need to scroll whilst garmin only the next turn only sucksssssssssssssssssssss.
If u like over 50 and u hate computers buy the garmin cuz its very simple but, if ur young and like features navigon 4 yahhhhhhhhhh

No matter how cute this looks.
The company carries no spare parts what so ever.
So if your battery dies or your charger damages.
This item goes to the Museum.

A. The system does NOT turn off automatically, upon switching off
the car (no power in the cig. lighter bay).
This is a MAJOR design problem.
Potentially, one can forget and have the system drained out.
B. The system does NOT work, if being charged at the same time (in car).
It will take at least 3 hours to recharge the internal battery.
Again, a MAJOR design problem.
C. The charging light(orange or green) can not be seen during
the day(only at night) and is making more difficult to
track the internal battery status(charging or not charging).
As a conclusion: very smart device but
you will regret if you buy it as I do.

I’ve had problem with this GPS ever since I bought it. I even called
customer service for help and they never called me back. I wouldn’t buy it if I were you. You get what you pay for.
